Pricing and margin deserve a seat at the table

Dear founder,

Most growth conversations are about getting more: more traffic, more conversion, more spend. Pricing, which moves profit faster than almost anything, often sits untouched for years because it feels risky to poke.

Why it matters so much

  • A small price change flows straight to the bottom line
  • Discounting by habit quietly trains customers to wait
  • Your margin, not your revenue, is what actually pays the bills

None of this means put prices up carelessly. It means treat pricing as a deliberate decision you revisit, not a number you set once and forget.

You can work desperately hard to win more sales, or you can make the sales you already have worth a little more. One of those is a lot less effort.

Handle it with care

Test changes where you can, watch the effect on volume as well as margin, and be honest about the value you offer. Communicate increases plainly rather than hiding them.

Give pricing the same attention you give traffic and conversion. It's one of the few levers that can improve profit without a single extra visitor. If you'd like a second view before you move, book advisory time.

Best,
