When your theme can quietly replace an app
Dear brand owner,
A lot of app subscriptions are paying, month after month, for things a modern theme already does. It's worth a look before you renew.
Things often handled natively now
- Announcement bars, badges and countdowns in the theme editor
- Simple upsells and cross-sells in cart and checkout
- FAQ and size-guide sections as reusable blocks
- Basic wishlists and recently-viewed with a little theme work
Not everything belongs in the theme, and some apps genuinely earn their fee. But every feature you can move native is one less script loading, one less monthly line item, and one less thing to break on the next update.
Every app you remove is a small refund and a slightly faster store.
How to decide
Make a short list of what each app actually does for you. Then ask, honestly, whether the theme or checkout could cover it. Where it can, plan the swap and test carefully before you uninstall.
You rarely notice the weight of a stack until you take some off. Start with the features you already own.
Best,
