Social proof that does the work
Dear reader,
You can tell people your product is good. It lands far harder when other customers say it for you. That's the whole point of social proof, and most stores use it half-heartedly.
Make it count
- Put ratings near the price and the buy button, not buried at the bottom
- Show specific reviews that mention fit, quality or a real use, not just "great"
- Include the awkward ones. A perfect five everywhere reads as fake
Photos from real customers do more than another polished studio shot. So does a review that answers the exact worry a shopper has at that moment.
A slightly critical review that you've clearly not hidden builds more trust than a wall of five stars.
Don't overdo it
Fake urgency counters and inflated numbers get spotted quickly, and once trust cracks it doesn't come back. Keep it genuine and let volume speak for itself.
Used well, social proof answers the quiet question every shopper is asking: "will this be right for me?" Let your customers answer it.
Best,
